Apprenticeship - This is not a job, it’s a career.

If you've got a passion for cars or an interest in mechanics, our Apprenticeship Programme is one of the most tried and tested success stories within the motor industry.

The Apprenticeship programme is designed for recent school leavers who expect to gain at least three GCSEs, including Maths and English. During the programme, we'll develop your aptitude for working with cars into a career.

The Company

National Tyres and Autocare is the UK's largest independent tyre and autocare specialist - supplying everything from tyres to MOTs. We supply and fit tyres to cars and vans as well as offering a specialist service in fitting exhausts, brakes, batteries, suspension and MOT testing.

National Tyres and Autocare operates under the holding company of Axle Group Holdings Ltd, with an annual turnover in excess of £100 million. Meeting the needs of our customers is naturally the most important thing to us, so we spend a lot of time making sure the team that does this is properly trained, highly professional and totally focused.

Now we're looking for the next generation of champions to join our Apprenticeship programme, helping us to go the extra mile for our customers and setting the standards that we've become famous for.

The Programme

The two-year programme is specifically designed for recent school leavers who want a fast route into the motor industry. During your time here, we'll teach you all you need to know about Fast-Fitting, so that you can boost your skills, build on your experience and gain an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship - Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Competence (VCQ).

We are in the top 50% of UK providers of vocational training with over 90% success rate. So if you expect to achieve 3 GCSEs including Maths and English, you could be working with all makes and models of cars, joining a close-knit team and getting the career you really deserve.

The first week of the programme will be held at one of the National Tyres and Autocare Training Centres and will involve an induction to the programme, the company, health and safety and basic skills. Thereafter, you'll work alongside qualified technicians in our branches to gain experience and collect evidence of on-the-job training for inclusion in your portfolio. You'll also complete 12 weeks off-the-job training, where we'll expect you to complete a Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Competence (VCQ) and a Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles (VRQ) where you'll learn skills in IT, communication, numeracy and working with others.
